kekePower just informed me about this. I would not have known who this was if I wasn’t looking so much forward to seeing him play the Joker in the new Batman movie.

At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building, at 421 Broome Street in SoHo, for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger naked and unconscious on a bed, with pills scattered around his body. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play. The police said they believed Ms. Olsen, 21, was in California and said it was not clear why Mr. Ledger was in her apartment.

  1. I am the first one to comment here. For some reason, Heath Ledger and Jude Law always seemed like the same person to me. I mean, their names sound pretty similar to me. Ok, I am weird, but still. I am a bit shocked to hear these news. Sigg, I found out about Heath here, so I guess this site is pretty informative. RIP, Heath.

  2. My cousin sent me a heads-up before turning in to bed. I’m doing a night shift right now.

.. I bet this’ll bring out the Crow-effect on Batman’s gothic revamp. Not to mention ticket sales..
    Too bad, though.

  3. A young man died. Period. They (whoever “they” are) should respect him and his family and leave Heath alone. I mean, let him rest in peace. I don’t want to see “Cobain -effect” ever again, but I bet that will happen.

  4. I don’t think anything of that magnitude will happen in this case. The Crow effect (you’ve seen The Crow right?) simply adds the Ledger/Joker dualism in any Batman scene where he appears.
What would The Crow have been without Brandon Lee’s tragic death? Just a good movie. With it, it’s become legendary.

  5. At least we get to see him do a brilliant Joker, I believe. I bet he’s having a great time up in Heaven; enjoying a cocktail with Princess Diana, arguing about Who Shot First.
