A peculiar thing about philosophers (and indeed me too) is that they are looking at a problem. And they want that problem to go away. So, they seem to look for a place to put it. But still the problem won’t go away. Someone just ignores it and deals with other things instead. They are quickly corrected by the crowd. "LOOK!" they cry and point, with desperation in their eyes, "the problem is still there!"
.. until someone with a sense of common sense quietly coughs:
"Well, you are looking at the problem. Try looking at this solution."
And the rest is silence.
..until the next problem..
If you took metaphysics away from the scholar, it would be like stealing candy from a child. And allthough it’s hard to watch the professors cry, you can’t let them ruin their appetite. It’s common sense.
