Any good tips?

My K/X/Ubuntu box boots up from off state to restored session at 2:36 minutes. It’s a 450Mhz processor with 768mb RAM, disks going on ATA100. I’ve removed most unnecessary processes with Sysv-rc-conf, and although the system is still a bit too bloated I’m not sure if that’s what’s lagging it. I know I could spare some precious seconds by removing the HPT366 bios disk detection.
Anyway, is that a slow boot?
