R.I.P Layne Staley, 1967-2002 "Alice in Chains' Layne Staley was found dead in his Seattle home on Friday evening." This is the latest header on www.aliceinchains.com, one of the many fansites to the great grunge band.
Crescent found out today, and we had to check all the websites we could find, to see wether it was a cruel joke or not. Alice in Chains being one of the great inspirations to us, we've decided that our coming album will be dedicated to AIC and Layne Staley.
Share your thoughts at: aliceinchains.net and aliceinchains.com!
that's all for now. Sigge.

*Old Man - Neil Young*
Well, hello peeps! Over here in norway we're on our Easter holiday right now, and crescent tries to reherse as much as possible. Chris has turned 18 and I (sigge) will do so too in about two weeks. In the meanwhile we're also working on our new webpage wich I promise you'll be VERY nice!:) Our e-mail address: crescent@mailbox.as has been down for a while and we regret this! But if you've been trying to reach us, just send the e-mail once more and I promise we'll reply you asap.
We didn't go to RMR (Rock against drugabuse) this year, we couldn't finance it, so we stayed home and have four-five new songs in our reportoar!
Have a HAPPY EASTER, listen to sweet electric music sorted by me (el. artist WhiteBuddha) at MP3.com:

I must say. We played at the UM in Disco (Ungdomsmønstring i Disco dans), waiting for miss Norway to show up. As we all regret she didn't untill we left stage. We've had comments from different types of people, concerning the songs and tunes of our album. It's funny, people seem to like shit like Anonym/Happy Face (vocals by me:), but they don't have comments on the real genious song(s) like Astérix. Well, well.
I've been speaking to Jon Henrik, and we'll have the interview as they sent it on air here ASAP!
Important note: it seems like our first order scheme has turned out bad, as orders have been confirmed lost. So if you ordered our album using the old scheme, please order again.
Sigge, good night!:)

*Rooster - Alice in Chains (Unplugged)*
Since last updating we've released our first album: Crescent Sessions 2000, an 11-track disc featuring songs like Apathy, Perfect Anarchy, Of a butterfly and Sober and Confused; played by Kornelius Hanssen (vocals and 1st guitar), Chris Fossbakk (bassguitar), Richard Bakli (2nd guitar) and Sigge (Percussion and vocal). The response have been varied, but we don't care about nothing constructive.
We've done an interview with Folkebladet and a local radio station, which we hope to cover on this page in mp3 or stream format.
Our new e-mail address is crescent@mailbox.as, but the old @crescentpage.com will still work for a while till our domain runs out... To order a piece of crescent, you can e-mail the address above.
- Sigge, percussions, out.

I've updated the press section with an article by our mixer who's a reporter at Lokalavisa.no. "Crescent Sessions 2K" can be bought in Narvesen, Prix, The bookshop, Brygga Kro & Pub and Jensens Elektriske from Wednesday (23.01.01). You can also order it here.
- Have a nice week!

*Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen*
Hallelujah indeed! Next week the debut album we've all been waiting for, Crescent Sessions 2000, is going to be released. BUT you can order it in advance, and we'll hold it back just for you. To do this go to the album section.
This night we'll also start our next project, and hopefully we've recorded some new material by the end of the day. Some of it for online release maybe. Have a nice day!
Saturday (29.12.01)

The day before yesturday this guy called us wanting us to perform live at a x-mas gathering in the neighbour village. We gladly accepted and last night from 7 p.m to 1 a.m we (along with DiskoSUXXX and Quark) played through three sets. This all happened in Setermoen's Jokern, the local pub with karaoke. Chris performed with the town mayor and we had all the pizza, coke and cigarettes anyone could ever want. Pizza was bad though. Read more about it in the performance history.
Returning from Setermoen we joined up with Espen and Trygve (former manager of crescent), for a long and giving nachspiel. It was just great.

*Hangin' Round - Lou Reed*
Merry christmas to all! And have a great new year's party!
I'd like to apologize (on behalf) for the lack of updating on this page, but as we closed in on x-mas, we got lots of business f*cking around with the crescent cover design. In two days we'll hopefully go to the studio (ahh, once again!), to start our next session(s). We had a great rehersal yesturday and it lasted till one a.m. this morning:) It was some kick-ass playing and our friend John helped us with some percussion to the sound of grunge. We've also come up with some names to our new songs. The "Terror-Song", named by the local newspaper, has been named "U.S Execution" and our project-song is baptized "Sarcasmed Pools". Well, I have to go eat my x-mas dinner, as a wealthy, fat white man.
Ho, ho, fucking ho! -Sigge

*Talking Seattle Grunge Rock - Todd Snider*
Our recordings have been mastered, and are ready for sampling. The design is almost done too:)
We had a great rehersal this evening of December, only 4 hours though, and played 2 new songs (I oppose and something else:).
Apart from that, I've got nothing to tell you, except the fact that our new forum hasn't reached the kind of publicity we'd hoped for, so start using it. [Click here to use it!]

*She's my best friend - The Velvet Underground*
Friday (yesturday) we warmed up at my place for the coming rehersal the next morning (today). Sathees (the caretaker, undertaker aso..) gave us his keys, his best wishes and left. We were going to really get some serious work done, but thanks to some old dinosaurs, we got 2 hours of playing music instead of 8!!! Here's a picture taken by Jon Henrik Larsen of the fuckers who fucked up our rehersal!!! click here for picture of the peeps!
By the way, we got some VCR-recording done, and if everything goes well, we'll have some fresh music out on movie format for you folks! Thanks to Kjell Vidar and Agnar!

After 6 hours in studio today, we finnally finished the mixing, paid Jøran and got the DAT. Now all we have to do is arrange the printing (I was on the phone today with a company) and get in the rest of the sponsor-money. We're really anxious to get the record out as soon as possible, and leave the past behind us.
Another issue; www.crescentpage.com will not function as a shortcut/gateway to this page in the future, and if you want to get to this webpage you CAN ONLY USE the following gateways:

*Another night in - Tindersticks (remixed by Faithless, Back to mine)*
After one entire month with no rehersal (but some acoustic sessions at my house) we practiced some old and new songs today. For 8 hours crescent was reunioned and kicked! We made One way dialogue Protest song perfectly, and as a project we covered The Velvet Underground's Sweet Jane and Lou Reed's Dirty Boulevard, with Chris and me (that's Sigge) as second vocals!!! It worked great, and you bet you'll hear us covering them in a gig somewhere in the near future. Tomorrow, KIM will start playing till there's a film (at the cinema in the same building) and then crescent will (hopefully) do an unplugged session at me. Look out for more bad recordings:)
As for the album we're releasing, Crescent sessions 2000, we've been able to raise more money for the printing of the record(s) and at coming monday we'll join Gjøran G.B in the studio to finish the work on the mixing and hand him the cash for the DAT cassette. If all goes well we'll send the DAT to Gjøvik (Graphic Media Design) before the coming weekend.

*Jobs children - Jørn Simen Øverli*
It's ten degrees in my bedroom, but comparing to this room it's darn hot!
I got some new sponsors today and lost a big one. But the day isn't ruined, 'cause I got the CRESCENT MASTER version 2 disc today, and I'll ask Kornelius to come over listen to it (on hi-fi stereo) when I'm done letting you know. I've also added a (temporary?) messageboard for you peeps, so I won't have to clean up your act. You can find it by pressing the "guestbook" link in the menu. Can you find it? No? When you do, you just hit the "messageboard" button and there ya go young fellow!

Hello out there!:) Kjell (assistant manager), KORNelius (vocals+guitar) and me (Sigge, drummer, idiot) are sitting here listening to great music, drinking beers, smoking fags and having a great time. We've gone through the MASTER rec's and noted the minutes of crescent music you'd get by buying our record (a total of 47 minutes and 32 seconds)! We'd also like you to know that the TEASER samples of our new recordings are available at the Crescent Sessions 2000 previews, so check them out!!!

Just found out that we've played 25 songs within our band (counting out the nombreux jams:), then I decided to update only to let you know. You can find a complete list at our tabs/lyrics section!
Jøran G. B is finishing our changes to the first MASTER-mixed recordings, and hopefully we'll get MASTER version 2 tomorrow so we can find out if it's going to be like the final product or not (are we never satisfied?).

*Sex with your parents - Lou Reed (live)*
Kornelius and I played today at VOLUM with QUARK (Kim and Vinod band) with a lot of emphasise on acoustic. There was three school classes (13-15 yrs), teachers and other people we don't seem to recognize. Anyways, it was fun. The concert was to raise money to the rainforests in Papua New-Guinea (South-East Asia).

Whole band's asleep but me:)
Anyways here are the latest!!! We had a great gig last night for about 50 lucky people and we're tottally covered in the local papers by our friend Jon, who's pictures we'll be using from now on (Crescentpage.com have been attacked by the local paper Folkebladet, who claims that they own the right to pictures of US, which they took without asking... Rotten huh?). The gig hosted 6-7 bands among others: DiskoSuXXX, Ultimate Bisquit, Mailbox (really cool people!) and K.I.M. Crescent played after a 10 min brake, and we played for entire 60 minutes till I ran out of water:) Then we headed homewards to eat some pizza, and maybe taste some Norwegian wine. But we were all to tired to drink so the wine was let alone.
Out to get ourselves a cigarette, we saw the LAMO resident (official bulding for kids and people with serious social or economic problems) burn down to the ground. It was a real shitty experience, and when I stood up this morning the smoke was still coming out (LAMO is in a straight line in front of my house). LAMO's on fire!!!

The latest I've read in the papers is that there was two girls (14 and 16 years old) who incinerated it. too bad.
And we send our regrets to the whole county of Salangen; we join in your sorrow for the loss of the coming Vinmonopol (the only "store" in Norway you can buy the real liqours).. Captain out.
(newspaper articles+pictures coming soon)

Finito, comprende?
Yessss.. finished with the work, now it all relies on me.. shit! We've done the mixing, thanks to Jøran, and tomorrow I'll start the neverending fund-raiser. We'll send the DAT casset down to our printing-man, when we get some money, and donations are gladly accepted! This friday we'll play KIM/Crescent (without chris apparantly), in the ongoing fight called "Rock against Bush!"... It's really one of Sathees' many ways of making money, and the sincere theme of the concert is rock against drugs. (Like he's the right person to state that!)
I'll start my managing of resources and updating contacts tomorrow (sounding like the heck of a business man), so we can see the end of this veeery long, dark tunnel. Kornelius makes no comment. (as fucking usual)
Our journalist-friend is writing an article about our upcoming album, so please check it out (when it comes) at Salangen-Nyheter!

we're in the studio finishing our work today!!! Rickie and Kornelius went yesturday too, when I was doing an interview in Finnsnes. Gotto go, fetching my new cooked meal. In 15 minutes I will run to the studio! Stay sharp for updates, (from here quoting Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone) mothafuckas! (unquote).

*A perfect day* by Lou Reed

As I promised I'd update with a fresh article from monday, I did. well, not entirely fresh but what the h*ck. [ Click HERE to check it out! ]
There's no rehearsing tonight as Christian is blowing his brains out at a party with his friends from school. Downtown Sjøvegan, idea by Vinod b. Olsen and Kornelius Hanssen (who?), there's an Alice in Chains evening. And I'm at home slaving for my boss, reading english litterature and just doing what I shouldn't have (like this). Now to get this all in perspective I need my coffe, some chocolate and a fag. See you all later, I've got my saturdaynight all planned.

Listening to the daft, unplugged playings by Alice in Chains, I remember that I haven't yet updated with the new pictures and press-releases!! So here it comes.. (ehh, press stuff coming tomorrow!!) (I swear!!) (Did I tell you the gig was great??) Also I'll put up a link to the temporarily page of K.I.M here, since our very first recordings are official!!:) -Sigge

This one goes out to the parents of christian!!

The gig last night was great, and we played our songs (and the covers) pretty good. The audience however, was as dead as they've always been:) We dedicated one song to (the) Kim, "New Type Heroin", but forgot to dedicate one to MIB as we should've and we're sorry! We also regret the fact that Chris' videocam had to be powercharged for 8 hours before we could use it, so there was no visual recordings.... Jon H however, photographed for the local newspaper and (tried to) record our music. The result might be very bad, 'cause we played with somewhat loud sound:) We also gave him an interview, which you hopefully can read about soon in the press section. I've heard rumours that the people in the local paper (Troms Folkeblad) don't like me copying their photos and texts, even though I give them a link to the source!!! Well, I just want to tell you this: if you fucking don't want me to use your fucking photos then fuck don't take them without fucking asking, you ignorant fucks!!
Jolly good, then. The recordings, pics and interview will be here asap!! btw, you can read more facts about the gig at our history section.

Wanted you to know that Jon-H WILL take pictures as mentioned below, and hopefully Richard will get his recorder and record the whole thing. It's also a slight possibility we'll get KIM (Kids In the Morgue) to warm up for us. We haven't asked them yet, but we have heard that they're interested. KIM consists of me, chris and Richard and is a p/funk-jazz jammin' band.
By the way, chris might get his videocam, and maybe, just maybe, we'll release some videofiles here for your pleasure.. stay tuned!!
This news-message is dedicated to Mirza who cannot attend at our gig.. Well what can you say? Life goes on..

Had a great rehearsal last night and our new track (remains nameless:) has become our greatest track till now, at least the hardest one:) We'll play it (if the lyrics are done till then) on coming concert, this friday (5th of October) at Volum, Salangen, among songs of Pearl Jam, Silverchair, Nirvana and ourselves of course! Some songs we're hoping to play: State of Love and Trust (PJ), Tomorrow (Silverchair), Lithium (Nirvana) and Revolution Song (Crescent:)..
I've also asked Jon to take some shots (haven't replied yet), and we'll try to get our hands on a recorder.. If everything goes as planned, we'll have some bootlegs up here soon!
BE THERE!
By the way, check out our MP3-Locker at www.myplay.com (user: freegrunge@hotmail.com) (pas: freegrunge), where the latest KIA midi-file amongst some new "Unplugged and Drunk" tracks. If you need instructions go here.

Sup? I'll tell you what's up; we played yesturday on the annual Salangen Messa and we're broadcasted live on the messa radio, and I gave an interview to our hero JonH. We played acoustic ("unplugged") to not blow the guts out of the old people passing by. Here's what we played: "Revolution Song" (at the beginning and end), "Astériks", "something in the way", "New Type Heroin" and "Tomorrow". It was great, even though we received countless complaints on the volume, but all in all it was great. DiskoSuXXX didn't have our luck and was cut straight off the air, when some of the people administering Messa thought it had gone too far. We got to play for 35 mins and were satisfied, though.... Later on the evening we had ourselves (just me and kornelius) a couple of beers and sat down wathich the "Tribute for Heroes" show on TV, and we had a good time watching artists such as: Eddie Vedder & Mike McCraedy (Pearl Jam), Neill Young (playing solo and later with PJ), Wycleaf Jean and Limp Bizkit (our favourites of the day).
Then, today Kornelius came buggin me as I was buissy, but he came in peace. He'd got some great news from our hero Sathees (click here for picture) that we could have ourselves a gig at Volum (where the Sjøvegan UKM is held every spring) if we wanted, in two weeks from now (12 days more accurately). Kornelius (without thinking, naturally) accepted the deal, and we'll hopefully play as scheduled for about half an hour or so...
P.S. We got some good response also from the gig yesturday, Kornelius says over my shoulder.
P.S.2. I'll get up some/one pic(s) that Jon Henrik (reporter) took of us for Troms Folkebladet (local newspaper).
Have a nice day! Go visit DJMIB!
