  2. Something in the way (Nirvana)
  3. Higher (crescent)
  4. Sober an confused (crescent)
  5. Of a butterfly (crescent)
  6. Asteriks* (crescent)
  7. Nothing else matters (Metallica)
  8. come as you are (nirvana)
  9. Remembered when I die (crescent)

N I R V A N A Hello and congratulations!!! Today it's ten years since Nirvana released it's 'Nevermind', which I am (God is my witness) listening to right now. I can't remember what year it was when I first heard Smells like teen spirit, but I can assure you I wasn't that old:)
It's a great day for grunge, and VHS1 is having a grunge broadcast twice today if I'm not mistaken.
We're having a gig at the annual Salangen Messa, where we'll join forces with DiskoSuXXX and hang around all day talking to people about music's mission in a youngster's life.
Richard came over the other day, and confirmed that the cover-design for our album is great, and so be it.
On the occation I've decided to upload some Nirvana MP3's to our locker (enter below), and I've also made a mobilephone-logo to all you freakin' piques-niques out there. Just send "STLOGO 411467" (without the "s) to 1960, and for only 6 norwegian crowners (0,06 $) you can enjoy an amateur-crescent-logo:)

me and kornelius is sitting in front of the computer, downloading b-side Nirvana tracks and designing a cover to our promo-CD, which we'll give to this place we're really eager to play at. so, going through all this trouble for a gig, we hope to get this gig. But that's up to our manager. (finnally he's doing something...:) Meanwhile, Mirza is in Oslo a city in a galaxy far, far away. What can we do without a bodyguard. I haven't been outside my house for days, and Kornelius doesn't have the guts to eat.. He's afraid to get poisoned... The life of proffesional musicians.... :P Speaking of living here, last evening we witnessed drug abuse in our backyard.. well, what can you say? and what will happen next?? Stay tuned to get the latest news from this part of the world.

hellllo! had the greatest rehearsal last night. firing up the engines at 3pm, we got well started and had ourselves a little break to buy some tobacco and beer. we got too much though and plans ahead needed to be changed. but first things first, and so we went to grab a bite at Mazhar's. Half an hour later or so we headed back to basecamp and begun playing/learning/experimenting with a new song by Kornelius (it remains nameless). It was very aggressive music, and we got very aggressive when christian started on a beer before we thought it was the right thing to do. he got drowsy, but after a long break with talking and the romantic sound of acoustic guitar in the moonlight, he tottally redeemed himself and we had a hell of a rehearsal till the bassamplifier exploded. or at least it smelled that way...? What were we to do now? Christian, the mental backup for the band, had a plan of course. To get some wood and go down to the shore and drink beer. It was a good one, but I (and two other nameless bandmembers) were hungry, so we went to my place first to grab a bite of pizza. This was around 0:30 am. We had rehearsed in approximately 7 hours (if you count out the breaks). We grabbed some wood, and accompanied by bassplayer and friend from DiskoSuXXX on the mobile phone, we found our way down to the spot where we celebrated 16th of May. He also gave us some good advice about making a proper fire, and christian finnally succeded. It had been fucking dark untill the fire was proper, and I had accidently walked on a can of beer, and the evening (or night) had a bad beginning.. But we were going to make the best out of it. We cooled the cans and bottles in the water which seemed as a great idea at the time. On my second (or first and a half) beer I saw something float away on the sea. "It's my fucking beer!" I yelled. Kornelius had secured his good enough, but mine seemed already lost to the gods of sea. Christian however stayed focused, and after running fifty yards along the shore, he took his socks of and went into the freezing water and got the beer. PAY ALL HEED TO CHRISTIAN!! He was the great hero of the day. Later on our stable of wood just got smaller and smaller, and we understood that if this was going to continue, we had to get more wood. Well, going down to the shore I'd seen a stack of wood outside a neighbour's house, and we served ourselves good. This is, of course, theoretichally speaking. We had to do it twice, cause we were going to stay till the beer was finished. We had alot of talking, a lot of singing, and we even strolled a while just to stretch our legs. The discussion topics were many and varied, i.e. music, christian's new life, religion and politics. We all had our share in talking and it was this great thing just to sit there under the stars till the sun came up with a beer in your hand and a cigarette between your lips, just talking to friends. You might ask yourself why I am putting this news up on a band page 'cause it has nothing to do with the band, but you're wrong! Things like this makes a band a band, and not just a bunch of friends coming together... It was great, and lasted till about 7 am, when we split and went to bed. So we spent like 16 quality hours together:) and if you don't think it was the most brilliant thing to do a saturday night after all day of rehearsing, then FUCK YOU!..

We all congratulate Kornelius who's just received a new brother.. The newborn hasn't got a name yet, but I suggested Kurt Donald Hanssen.. well, it's a good alternative! Telling that he got a new brother, he kind of caught me on surprise.. didn't know a thing, so I just kind of said: "these things happen.."..
On the other hand we've got Chris who's moving from Salangen to Finnfjordbotn (most likely), because of his education.. good for us, he's decided that he cannot abandon his band, and that he'll continue playing with us, now only for weekends..:)
damn, so much is happening at once, I can't cope with it!

To all people out there reading this: keep on rockin'!!! Now sitting in the studio, we're all united back with Rikard at the studio, listening to the old version of our songs. One of the hardest surprises we got was 'of a butterfly' which was really heavy! The final product will have these 11 tracks (out of order): Of a butterfly, K.I.A, Perfect Anarchy, remembered when I die, Chlamydia, Sober an' confused, Anonym/Happy Face, Asterisk, Apathy, Scotland's yard and New type heroin. Killed in action, Perfect Anarchy, Anonym/Happy Face and Apathy have the original vocal layers! We're done with the recordings!!!! Hopefully our guy in the south can mix the format we've recorded on, and if so the release of the album will be somewhere in the near future (in one and a half year or so..). With these words ("thank you") we'd like to thank the following for their cooperation and support making this record; Jøran Glad Berthinusen, Odd Andreas Tofteng, Rikard Bakli, Pål Bang Hansen, Torfinn Utheim, Salangen Kommune and fuck the rest.
Damn! I could use a beer.

Report written right after our part played on the annual Foldvik Rock: "Here again to give you fresh reports from the lame life of Northern Norway. This Saturday we played on the annual Foldvik Rock festival, and it was fun. Kornelius' guitar was very untuned giving extra potential to the already perfect crescent material. Chris says this about the concert (over a jar of cold beer):"fuck the world". We apologize that we didn't bring a recorder, we know tha our thousands of fans out there really needs it, and once again, we apologize. Words by Kornelius:"from the first lick of guitar to the last angstfilled shriek, we basically did our best to fuck with the other bands... we tried to sound heavy, droppin the guitar and bass a whole step down, but somehow everything got fucked, and the guitar got totally out of tune which we think put an exceptional twist on the show. Noone seemed to like this except the hardcore fans from back home, and it got a little too exceptional to some of them, I think....."
The thing about recorder (as we apologized) is true, BUT Sathees (a foreign south-east-asian friend and/or enemy of the band) got two of the songs on tape, and hopefully there'll be live video on this page from the concert somewhere in the future!!!
Sathees (Bla Bu) Mylvaganam

Now, we had to move the mp3 files (again:), cause theglobe.com went bankrupt or so they told us. That's why we've created a personal locker where you can login and download our music! This will hopefully only be temporarily!

Yessir.. We're back to give you the latest news. The 2nd of August we played for 400 teenagers at the Finnsnes i Fest Festival, and it can be described in one word: INTENSE. Here's a fresh report written after the concert in our hotelroom: "This thursday we played on Sumaloftet and we were introduced by Shortcut (a bastard from from a national TV-company's Top 20 hitlist). We did our best to get rid of the crowd and ditch shortcut and we didn't fail. We played fairly well (especially Nirvana's Lithium and Silverchair's Tomorrow). We left an angry and self-obsessed audience to get wasted in our hotelroom. Due to a band (Romslig Bagasjerom) who played before us, and covered Creed's "With arms wide open", all our songs except one was called "with arms wide open". 90-95% of the audience, including shortcut, hated us, but those last percents really loved us, and I want to thank them for having a mind of their own:) We started with Lithium, then Of a butterfly, so Tomorrow, Higher, and last but not least Impulsive Manners." It was a hell of a concert, as said, intense. I've added (below and in the press section a point of view made by Shortcut after the concert, where he tends to mention us:) In the lyrics section I've added my own (sigge's) Anonym/Happy Face, which I found in my room laying about somewhere... I've also added a few pictures whom all are old... stay tuned for more updates. We won't do the same mistake to NOT bring a recorder with us to this years Foldvik Rock, coming up at the 11th of August. So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Meanwhile you can arrange bus ticket to Finnsnes, cause we'll be attending both in the street parade concert and later @ the pub (sumaloftet). hope to c you there! Right now I'm really pissed off! All the recordings from the UKM 2001 Concert was deleted from webjump.com's server today and I have written a formal complaint about the happening! Please help us make them understand that these recordings are non-comercial and that it is of own material we are performing. This is what I wrote to them:

Hello!
My name is Sigge Amdal and I am a member of the grungeband crescent (www.crescentpage.com)! We have been taken down from webjump, since we've uploaded recordings (in MP3 format) from our very own concerts (bootlegs). This makes me furious, cause we own the rights to these recordings and they are after all live recordings (in other words-non comercial). I expect a formal apology, and I hope we can continue the (till now) good relationship.

Sincerely Sigge Amdal

I will go to Oslo in two hours and I don't have the time or energy to fix the problem, so the recordings won't be up before sometime in August. Till then have a great summer:) -Sigge (Good luck to Kornelius, Chris and Trygve (our manager) who'll be playing in Clayfighters at this years Elverock (at 09 pm).

16 new pictures, 15 taken by Jon-Henrik, and a pic of Håvard...? just in case. Go check em out! Me (sigge) and kornelius (not to mention our manager and personal lifeguard) was interviewed this rainy saturday by Radio Sjøvegan LIVE! downtown, where we released some of the information concerning the coming Finnsnes i Fest where we'll be playing on the 3rd of August. Next after that is the Foldvik Rock which might suck, nevertheless be there (Foldvik) at the 13th of August:) Till next time I update with news, pics, press-stuff or downloads, have a great time! I'll be going to france next friday, and leave the rest of the band to take-in beer for themselves.
And remember: don't inhale :)

Updated the download samples section with some new design aaaaand: bootlegs from UKM 2001 Sjøvegan, recorded by Mirza and his friendly MiniDisc. The volume was a bit low, so I've made it reasonable (about +700% :), and Asterisk* was a hard job (please don't mind the volume-jumps, it is necessary!). Also included is the essentional and exceptional crescent's Asterisk* featuring SMURFs... Enjoy! We had a bad rehearsal last night, since we never got to play some music, partly due to Jon-Henrik taking photo's of us, which I will update the gallery with asap. Check out www.anti-grunge.com's view of grunge: "Grunge is dangerous and it must be stopped. It`s worse than any hard drug, it`s worse than any organization built on racial hatred, it`s worse than any possible natural disaster, it`s worse than being the allstar of a perfect carcrash and it`s even worse than being married to your fucking mother, jackass"... excuse me while laughing:)

I updated the press page with an article by our friend MIB, which I have translated to english. I also suggest you surf over to www.theonering.net to check out the latest trailer(s) and pics from the coming Lord of the Rings movie... All crescent members (christian being half interested) loves the work of J.R.R Tolkien, and we really have great expectations to the film (which is probably why it will suck...:). So you do that and come back here for more. (btw I will add some bootlegs to this page soon. Mib has promised me to lend his recordings of the UKM 2001 Concert at Sjøvegan (were we fucked up alot:).. stay tuned, and remember to keep rating sigge!

rehearsed yesterday and it kicked a lot of ass. We discussed back and forth on the meaning of life, and we narrowed it down to one word: PEPSI. That's why we renamed Sweet Hereafter to pepsi. I've updated the performance history page with some pictures taken while performing unplugged at Brygga Kro & Pub (07.11.00). I've slept awfully lot today, but I'm still tired so off I go.. oh, and by the way, since I just recently discovered I'll be "away" all summer holiday, we'll postpone the studio finish to the end of the summer holidays... -sigge

Just updated the "press" page, found in [about the band], with some pictures and newspaperclippings done by Kornelius.. we had a great reherseal the other day, and Impulsive Manners keeps getting better every time we play it. We're having some difficulties with our Sweet Hereafter, since we don't feel it's heavy enough in the verse. We need more power... but the refrain is great!.. Hi there! I'm having one of the worst hangovers I've ever experienced from the celebrating of 17th of May which is Norway's nationalday. we begun to reherseal at 9 pm (16th of may) and by midnight we'd managed to make a new song. The new song is called "impulsive manners" and is in the skateboard/snowboard-punk genre.. Really funny song! then we partied at the beach (/seashore) till 4 am, when we met up with some other ppl, and about 6 am I (sigge) got myself home, all help from christian appreciated:) we'd a hell of a 16th may, and I hope it'll only get better! -sigge

We play a few coversongs these days including Silverchair's 'Tomorrow' and some James Bond shit:).. We'll play again tomorrow!.. It's also known that this years riverrock won't host crescent, as drummer Sigge will be attending at a french monastery in Taizë (France) at the time being:)
